Are you abusing self care?

Have you had a few late nights this week?

Perhaps a long Netflix session here. Some revenge bedtime procrastination there.

A sprinkle of random tasks that suddenly need to be done.

A dollop of craving some alone time so waiting till everyone else goes to bed so you can just exhale.

Waking up tired because of all of the above...

Living this on repeat.

By the time your body felt tired enough to want to sleep...your mind is probably wide awake with all the other things that still needed to be done.

So you reach out for your Peace & Quiet essential oil blend, dab a few drops on your pillow.....add some PQ pulse point to your temples and within a few minutes be sleeping soundly.

But, on night 5 of this vicious recipe, as you reach your Peace & Quiet blend, again....do you stop and think, this is not the purpose of self care products?

We can't use them to support bad habits.

Continuing with bad habits while trying to live a more holistic life is a dismal merry go round to no where.

We can make holistic decisions about our lifestyles. We can set a bed time for ourselves. We can eat better. We can choose what we listen to and watch.

We can. You can. I can.

So when will you say "no more late nights for me"?. It may take more than one early night to reset your body clock...but you need it for your health and sanity.

What's one thing you're using self care to cover up for? Quick temper? Busyness? Anger issues? Lack of boundaries? Bottling up emotions? Relationship tension? No need to comment below. Write it down somewhere and think about how you can start to make changes.

We are in control of the life we want. We really are.
